How to cook deliciously - Bacon-Wrapped Water Chestnuts

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 13x9-inch baking dish. Cut bacon strips into thirds and wind each piece around a water chestnut, securing it with a toothpick. Place them in a single layer on an ungreased 15x10x1-inch baking sheet. Bake till the bacon is crisp, for 25 minutes. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and do not turn off the oven.

2. Stage

While the water chestnuts are baking, combine the ketchup and brown sugar in a small saucepan and cook, stirring, over medium heat, until the sugar is dissolved. Dip into the sauce and place into your prepared baking dish, working with one water chestnut at a time. Spoon the remaining sauce over the chestnuts and return to the oven. Bake for 10 minutes and serve.
