1. 2-2/3 cups all-purpose flour -

3. 3/4 cup shortening -
4. 6 tablespoons cold water -

6. 2 cups fresh or frozen pitted tart cherries, thawed -
7. 1/2 cup sugar -
8. 2 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons cornstarch -
9. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon -
10. Glaze: -
11. 1 cup confectioners' sugar -
12. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract -
13. 1 to 2 tablespoons whole milk -

How to cook deliciously - Cherry Turnovers

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into four rectangles; then place on an ungreased baking sheet. Press on the perforations to separate each piece. Place 1/4 cup of the pie filling on one half of each rectangle. Fold the dough over the filling and then pinch the edges to seal it. Bake the turnovers for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.

2. Stage

Place the confectioners' sugar in a small bowl and then stir in enough milk to reach a drizzling consistency. Drizzle it over the turnovers and serve warm.
