Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 16 servings

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ½ cup honey

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed

  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Directions

  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Combine chicken broth, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a gentle boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often, until flavors combine, about 5 minutes.

  3. Whisk together water and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour into the saucepan; stir. Simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

Recipe Tip

For a thinner sauce, omit the water and cornstarch and skip Step 2.
