Mama's Balsamic Vinaigrette

My mother came up with the recipe for this balsamic dressing. It's wonderful on salads, but we also use it over steamed veggies or as a marinade for chicken. Store in the refrigerator and shake each time before using.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • ¾ cup extra virgin olive oil

  • ¾ cup balsamic vinegar

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed or to taste

  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Combine oil, vinegar, garlic, dijon, oregano, salt, and pepper in a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Seal the jar and shake well.
