Warm Swiss Cheese and Bacon Dip

A wonderful teacher friend of mine gave me this recipe for Swiss cheese and bacon dip. She is often asked to bring it to teacher functions. It is easy and delicious! Serve with additional Ritz® crackers, melba toasts, or assorted dipping vegetables.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings

  • 1 sleeve buttery round crackers (such as Ritz®), crushed

  • 1 (4.3 ounce) package bacon bits

  • 3 stalks green onions, chopped

  • 8 ounces shredded Swiss cheese

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature

  • cup creamy salad dressing (such as Miracle Whip®)

Directions

  1. Set aside 1/2 of the crushed crackers, 1/4 of the bacon bits, and 1/2 of the green onions for topping.

  2. Combine Swiss cheese, cream cheese, and Miracle Whip® in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes.

  3. Add remaining crushed crackers, remaining bacon bits, and remaining green onions to the cheese mixture. Mix well and microwave for 2 more minutes.

  4. Sprinkle dip with remaining crackers, bacon bits, and green onions.

Cook's Notes:

You can use crispy, crumbled cooked bacon in place of bacon bits.

You may also add 1 tablespoon of chopped jalapeno for kick if desired. This recipe is a great base recipe. I have also tasted it with chopped sun-dried tomatoes added. Add what you like to make it your own. Enjoy!
