Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 18 servings

  • 2 cups packed brown sugar

  • cup butter or shortening

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts

  • ½ cup shredded coconut

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.

  2. Beat brown sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until smooth. Add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. Spread mixture evenly in pan.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. Let cool before cutting into bars.
