1 apple, cut into bite-sized pieces

⅓ cup brown sugar

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract, or to taste

1 teaspoon ground allspice, or to taste

½ cup raisins (Optional)

1 (16 ounce) loaf cinnamon-raisin bread, torn into chunks
Directions

Grease the inside of a slow cooker.

Place apple pieces in the prepared slow cooker; sprinkle brown sugar on top, then dot with butter slices.

Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and allspice together in a bowl until smooth; add raisins. Stir bread chunks into egg mixture until saturated; transfer to the slow cooker.

Cook on High for 2 hours.
Cook's Note:
Heavy whipping cream can be used in place of milk if desired.
