This pecan pie cobbler has a sweet and tender cake topping with gooey sauce and pecan nuts underneath. It has all the flavor of pecan pie but is a lot easier to make! Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an irresistible dessert.

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 ½ cups self-rising flour

  • 1 ½ cups white sugar

  • cup milk, or more as needed

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1 ½ cups packed light brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 cup pecan halves

  • 1 ½ cups hot water

Directions

  1. Add butter to a 9x13-inch cake pan or casserole dish; place in the oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

  2. Combine flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl; stir to combine but don't overmix, batter should be pouring consistency. If too thick, add more milk. Set batter aside.

  3. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl; set aside.

  4. Remove melted butter from the oven; sprinkle pecans over top. Pour batter over pecans, without mixing or stirring; sprinkle with brown sugar mixture, then carefully pour hot water over top.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes.
