This was an attempt to please a picky eater. I took a few recipes from this site and mixed them all up. She loved it!

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup quick-cooking oats

  • ½ cup white sugar

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 ½ cups reduced-fat milk

  • ¼ cup butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.

  2. Mix flour, oats, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Whisk milk, eggs, and butter in another bowl; stir into flour mixture until batter is just combined.

  3. Pour batter into preheated waffle iron. Cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes per waffle.

Cook's Note:

1/4 cup canola oil could be substituted for butter.
