Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 2 servings

  • 3 tablespoons salted butter

  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup chicken stock

  • ½ cup milk

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Rapidly whisk in flour until thick, about 2 minutes.

  2. Whisk in chicken stock until smooth. Whisk in milk; bring to a simmer. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until thickened, 3 to 5 minutes.


  3. Off heat, season with salt and black pepper.
