Since her 2005 debut on Iron Chef America, Cat Cora, the lone female on the show, has never had a problem keeping up with the guys. Still, Cora's been the only Iron Chef without a signature restaurant. Watch out, guys, 'cause that's about to change. CCQ, Cora's fast-casual take on global barbecue, is set to open early next year inside Macy's in Costa Mesa, CA. A Mississippi native who grew up in a food-loving family, Cora learned to combine culinary traditions from her Greek background with the Southern cuisine from her nabe, which will be reflected on the menu. The family restaurant will be in good company, as prominent chefs Rick Bayless, the master of Mexican, and Marcus Samuelsson are also slated to open eateries inside the Costa Mesa shopping mall.
