Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

  • 1 pound broccoli florets, cut into bite-size pieces

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

  • 1 tablespoon chile oil

  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Chinese black vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon white sugar (Optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.

  2. Toss broccoli with olive oil, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl. Arrange broccoli over the prepared sheet.

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until browned, about 20 minutes.

  4. Combine chile oil, soy sauce, black vinegar, and sugar in a bowl. Toss with the roasted broccoli.

Cook's Notes:

Crispy chile flakes may be substituted for the chile oil.

While broccoli is baking, check occasionally for any burning.
