How to cook deliciously - Hamburger Hash Brown Casserole

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, combine the frozen hash brown potatoes with the oil and pepper. Press them into a greased 8-inch square baking dish, making sure that the hash browns reach the edges. Bake the hash browns, uncovered, until the potatoes are thawed and set, about 25 to 30 minutes.

2. Stage

Meanwhile, heat a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the beef and cook it for five to seven minutes until it is no longer pink, breaking it up into crumbles with the back of a spoon as it cooks. Drain any liquid, then stir in the water, gravy mix and garlic salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and continue to cook it for two minutes, stirring often. Add the vegetables and continue to cook and stir for five minutes. Add half of the onions and the cheese, and mix until everything is well incorporated. Pour the mixture over the potatoes, and even it out with a spatula.

3. Stage

Bake the casserole, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Remove it from the oven and sprinkle the top with the remaining onions and cheese. Continue to bake until the cheese is melted, about five minutes longer. Editor's Tip: For the best texture, let the casserole rest for up to 10 minutes before serving it.
