Ingredients for - Loaded Slow-Cooker Grits

1. 1 1/2 c. grits -
2. 6 c. water -
3. 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled, divided -
4. 1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese, divided -
5. Kosher salt -
6. Freshly ground black pepper -
7. 2 tbsp. butter -
8. 3 green onions, sliced -

How to cook deliciously - Loaded Slow-Cooker Grits

1. Stage

In the bowl of a slow cooker, combine grits, water, 1 cup cheddar cheese and about half the bacon. Season with salt and pepper, then let the mixture stand for a minute to allow grits to settle to bottom.

2. Stage

Cover and cook on high until the grits are tender, about 3 hours, stirring occasionally if you can. (Alternatively, you can cook the grits on low for for 8 hours.)

3. Stage

Add butter, green onions and remaining 1/2 cup cheese and bacon. Stir until the butter is melted. Serve warm.
