Ingredients for - Cherry Sazerac

1. 1 oz. absinthe -
2. Ice -
3. 1 tsp. maraschino cherry juice -
4. 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters -
5. 2 oz. rye whiskey  -
6. 1 oz. cognac -
7. Lemon peel, for garnish -
8. Maraschino cherry, for garnish -

How to cook deliciously - Cherry Sazerac

1. Stage

Chill a cocktail glass in freezer until chilled, at least 10 minutes. 

2. Stage

Add absinthe to chilled glass and swirl around glass. Discard liquid. 

3. Stage

Fill a small glass or cocktail shaker with ice. Add cherry juice, bitters, whiskey, and cognac. Stir until chilled then strain into cocktail glass. 

4. Stage

Garnish with a lemon peel and maraschino cherry.
