1. 1 tbsp. yeast -
2. 1 c. milk -
3. c. butter -
4. 1 c. sugar -
5. 2 eggs -
6. 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour -
7. 2 tsp. nutmeg and/or cinnamon -
8. 1 c. raisins -
9. 1/2 c. brandy -

How to cook deliciously - Election Cake

1. Stage

Dissolve the yeast in the milk and set aside.

2. Stage

Combine the butter and sugar in a mixer. Beat eggs and add to the butter and sugar. Add the yeast and milk and mix well. Add the brandy. Sift together three cups of the flour and spices, then add to the wet ingredients. Gradually add the raisins. Knead in the remaining flour. On a floured board, knead until smooth and elastic.

3. Stage

Butter a tube pan or two small loaf pans. Put the dough in the pans and allow it to rise until doubled.

4. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 35 to 45 minutes. Turn out on a rack to cool. Top with favorite frosting.
