1. 4 tbsp. butter -
2. 1/2 large onion, finely chopped -
3. 3 cloves garlic, minced -
4. 4 tbsp. all-purpose flour -
5. 1 tsp. chopped fresh sage -
6. 1 tsp. chopped fresh rosemary -
7. 1 tsp. chopped fresh thyme -
8. 2 to 3 c. low-sodium chicken broth -
9. Kosher salt -
10. Freshly ground black pepper -

How to cook deliciously - Gravy Without Drippings

1. Stage

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add onion and cook until soft, 5 minutes, then stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute more. Stir in flour and herbs and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in 2 cups broth. 

2. Stage

Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat slightly and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. If the gravy is too thick, add more broth.

3. Stage

Season gravy with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
