1. 1 can tomatoes -
2. 2 qt. water -
3. 1 onion -
4. 2 stalk celery with leaves -
5. 2 tbsp. chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley -
6. 1/2 green pepper -
7. 1/2 c. whole barley -
8. 1/2 c. small dried lima beans -
9. 1 carrot -
10. 1 lb. mushrooms -
11. 2 tsp. salt -
12. 2 tbsp. snipped fresh dill -

How to cook deliciously - Mushroom and Barley Soup

1. Stage

In a large saucepan combine the tomatoes, juice, water, onion, celery, parsley, green pepper, barley, and lima beans. Bring to a boil. Simmer, covered, 1 1/2 hours.

2. Stage

Add the carrot, mushrooms, salt, and dill. Continue simmering until the carrot is tender, about 20 minutes.

3. Stage

Correct the seasonings and sprinkle on additional dill, if desired.
