How to cook deliciously - Lemon Ice Cream

1. Stage

Pour the milk into a small pot, and heat to 175°F. Whisk in the sugar, stirring until dissolved. Remove from heat, and let cool completely. Once the sweetened milk has cooled, stir in the lemon juice. Editor's Tip: Use an instant-read thermometer to know when the milk is at the right temperature to add the sugar.

2. Stage

In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff. Fold in the vanilla extract and milk mixture. Transfer to a freezer-safe 9-inch square dish.

3. Stage

Freeze for four hours or until firm, stirring at least once halfway through. About 10 minutes before serving, remove the ice cream from the freezer so it can soften slightly.
