1. 1 lb. shrimp, peeled, deveined, and tails removed -

1. Stage
In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with baking soda and ¼ teaspoon salt. Refrigerate 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta until al dente according to package directions. Drain.

Divide cooked pasta between plates and top with cream sauce and shrimp. Garnish with Parmesan and basil.
