1. 6 large eggs -
2. 1 1/2 c. whole milk -
3. 1 c. heavy cream -
4. 1/2 c. granulated sugar -
5. 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon -
6. 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract -
7. Pinch of nutmeg -
8. 1/2 tsp. kosher salt -
9. 1 loaf white bread, preferably day old -
10. Powdered sugar, for serving -
11. Maple syrup, for serving -
12. strawberries, for serving (optional) -

How to cook deliciously - French Toast Bake

1. Stage

In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and salt.

2. Stage

Dunk bread slices in the egg mixture then arrange them in a tall baking dish, standing up. Pour extra egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate, 2 hours, or up to overnight.

3. Stage

Bake in oven on 375° until the tops of the bread are golden and crunchy, about 45 minutes.

4. Stage

Sift powdered sugar on top of the French toast bake. Serve warm with maple syrup and strawberries, if desired.
