1. 1 lb. ground beef -
2. 1 large egg -
3. 1 medium yellow onion -
4. 1/4 tsp. garlic powder -
5. 1 tsp. kosher salt -
6. 1 tsp. Freshly ground black pepper -
7. 2 tbsp. unsalted butter -
8. 12 slice white sandwich bread -
9. 12 slice american cheese -

How to cook deliciously - Katie Lee's Logan County Hamburgers

1. Stage

In a medium bowl, combine beef, egg, grated onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until combined. Form into thin patties.

2. Stage

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

3. Stage

Heat a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook burgers about 3 minutes each side. Drain on paper towels. Drain grease from skillet.

4. Stage

In same skillet, place 6 slices bread, butter side down. Top each with a slice of cheese, if desired, some onion slices, and a burger.

5. Stage

Top with remaining slices cheese, if using, and bread, butter side up. Cook each sandwich until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Serve with mustard, ketchup, pickles, or any other desired hamburger toppings.
