2. 1/2 c. sugar -
3. 3 c. blood orange juice -
4. 1 c. small balls cantaloupe -
5. 1 c. small balls honeydew melon -
6. 1 c. small balls seedless watermelon -
7. 1 c. blueberries -
8. 1/2 c. halved red seedless grapes -
9. 1/2 c. halved green seedless grapes -
10. 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice -
11. 1/4 tsp. salt -

How to cook deliciously - Blood-Orange and Mixed-Melon Soup

1. Stage

Combine the water and sugar in a small saucepan and heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Boil 1 minute; pour into a heatsafe bowl to cool.

2. Stage

Heat the orange juice in the same saucepan to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer until reduced to 2 cups. Add to the sugar syrup and cool completely.

3. Stage

In a large serving bowl, combine the orange juice mixture, cantaloupe, honeydew, watermelon, blueberries, grapes, lemon juice, and salt. Stir gently to mix. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until serving.

4. Stage

To serve: Ladle into chilled shallow soup bowls so the fruits make a colorful pattern in the brilliant soup.
