Ingredients for - Pork or Poultry Brine

1. Water, as needed -
2. Carrots, sliced - 3
3. Celery, sliced - 3 stalks
4. Onions, sliced - 2 small
5. Kosher salt - 1 ½ cups
6. Brown sugar - 1 cup
7. Lemons, sliced - 2
8. Green bell pepper, sliced - 1 large
9. Garlic, chopped - 6 cloves

How to cook deliciously - Pork or Poultry Brine

1. Stage

Fill a large pot with water to about 3/4-full; add carrots, celery, onions, kosher salt, brown sugar, lemon slices, bell pepper, and garlic. Bring the mixture to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer mixture for 10 minutes.

2. Stage

Let the brine cool at room temperature for 10 minutes before refrigerating to chill completely, at least 1 hour more.

3. Stage

Strain brine into a separate food-safe container.
