1. Yellow cake mix, divided 1 (18.25 ounce) package
2. Butter, softened ¼ cup
3. Egg, lightly beaten 1
4. Packed brown sugar ¾ cup
5. Dark corn syrup ¾ cup
6. Eggs 3
7. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
8. Coarsely chopped pecans 1 ¼ cups

1 . Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch cake pan.
