1. All-purpose flour, for dusting -
2. 1 box vanilla cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box -
3. 1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk -
4. 1/2 c. heavy cream -
5. 1/3 c. freshly squeezed lime juice -
6. 1 tbsp. grated lime zest -
7. 1 tbsp. tequila -
8. 2 drops of green food coloring (optional) -
9. 1 c. butter, softened -
10. 5 c. powdered sugar -
11. 1/4 c. lime juice -
12. 1/4 c. tequila -
13. Coarse salt, for garnish -
14. Limes, cut into half moons, for garnish -
15. Lime zest, for garnish -
16. cocktail umbrellas, for garnish -

How to cook deliciously - Margarita Poke Cake

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease a 9"-x-13” pan with cooking spray and dust with flour. Prepare cake mix according to package instructions. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Let cool, 10 minutes.

Using the bottom of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over cake.

Make filling: In a medium bowl, stir together sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, lime juice and zest, and tequila. Fold in food coloring, if using.

Pour filling over poke holes and spread with a spatula. Refrigerate 1 hour.

Meanwhile, make tequila frosting: In a large bowl, combine butter, half of the powdered sugar, lime juice and tequila. Using a hand mixer, beat until smooth. Add the rest of the powdered sugar and beat until fluffy.

6. Stage

Spread frosting over the cake and garnish with coarse salt, limes, lime zest and umbrellas.
