1. 6 large, straight banana peppers -
2. 12 oz. (90% lean) ground beef -
3. 12 oz. ground pork -
4. 3 large eggs -
5. 1/2 c. plain bread crumbs -
6. 1/4 c. whole milk -
7. 2 tbsp. Italian seasoning -
8. 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes -
9. Kosher salt -
10. Freshly ground black pepper -
11. 8 oz. low-moisture mozzarella, shredded -
12. 4 oz. finely grated Parmesan -
13. 1 (24-oz.) jar marinara sauce or 1 batch homemade marinara sauce, warmed -
14. Chopped fresh parsley, for serving (optional) -

How to cook deliciously - Stuffed Banana Peppers

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 400°. Slice banana peppers in half lengthwise; remove seeds and membranes.

2. Stage

In a large bowl, combine beef, pork, eggs, bread crumbs, milk, Italian seasoning, and red pepper; season with salt and black pepper and mix well until combined, about 1 minute.

Stuff each pepper with about 1/4 cup beef mixture. Arrange peppers on a baking sheet.

Bake stuffed peppers until an instant-read thermometer inserted into filling registers 160°, about 30 minutes.

Heat broiler. Top peppers with mozzarella and Parmesan. Broil, watching closely, until cheese is bubbly and golden brown, about 1 minute.

Arrange peppers on a platter. Top with parsley (if using). Serve with marinara sauce alongside.
