1. 1/2 cup chopped onion -
2. 2 tablespoons butter -
3. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour -
4. 1/4 teaspoon salt -
5. 1/8 teaspoon white pepper -
6. 2 cups 2% milk -
7. 2 cups cubed cooked turkey breast -
8. 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables -
9. 2 cups hot mashed potatoes -

How to cook deliciously - Creamed Turkey over Mashed Potatoes

1. Stage

In a large saucepan, saute the onion in butter until tender. Sprinkle with the flour, salt and pepper, then stir in the milk until blended. Bring the mixture to a boil. Cook and stir for two minutes or until the sauce thickens and is bubbly. Editor's Tip: Look for the onions to become tender and translucent before adding the flour. Then, when adding the milk, whisk constantly to prevent lumps.

2. Stage

Stir the cubed cooked turkey and frozen mixed vegetables. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan and simmer until the mixture is heated through. Serve the creamed turkey mixture over hot mashed potatoes.
