1. Mackerel, drained and rinsed 1 (15 ounce) can
2. Onion, finely diced 1 small
3. Tomato-based hot pepper sauce ¼ cup
4. Salt, or to taste 2 teaspoons
5. Ground black pepper, or to taste 1 teaspoon
6. Mayonnaise 1 cup

Remove and discard mackerel skin and bones. In a medium bowl, mix mackerel with onion and hot pepper sauce with a fork, breaking it into small pieces. Mix in mayonnaise, then season to taste with salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
