1. 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained -
2. 2/3 cup dry bread crumbs -
3. 1 small tomato, seeded and finely chopped -
4. 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped -
5. 1 large egg -
6. 1 teaspoon minced fresh cilantro -
7. 1 garlic clove, minced -
8. 1 tablespoon olive oil -
9. 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split -
10. Optional: Reduced-fat sour cream, guacamole, spicy ranch salad dressing, lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced red onions -

How to cook deliciously - Salsa Black Bean Burgers

1. Stage

Place beans in a food processor; cover and process until blended. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the bread crumbs, tomato, jalapeno, egg, cilantro and garlic. Mix until combined. Shape into 4 patties.

2. Stage

In a large nonstick skillet, cook patties in oil over medium heat until lightly browned, 4-6 minutes on each side. Serve on buns; add toppings as desired.
