Ingredients for - Salted Caramel Apple Bars

1. All-purpose flour - 2 cups
2. Confectioners' sugar - ⅔ cup
3. Baking powder - ¼ teaspoon
4. Salt - ¼ teaspoon
5. Ground cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
6. Nutmeg - 1 pinch
7. Butter, softened - ½ cup
8. Egg - 1
9. Mott's® Original or Cinnamon Applesauce - 1 cup
10. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
11. Chopped dried apples - ½ cup
12. Caramel bits* - 1 cup
13. Chopped walnuts - 1 cup
14. Granulated sugar - ¼ cup
15. Ground cinnamon - ½ teaspoon
16. Coarse sea salt, or to taste** - ⅛ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Salted Caramel Apple Bars

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 9-inch square pan.

2. Stage

Combine flour, confectioners' sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.

3. Stage

Cream butter in separate large bowl. Beat in egg, applesauce, and vanilla extract.

4. Stage

Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Stir to combine. Add diced apples, caramel bits and walnuts; blend in thoroughly. Pour into greased pan and distribute evenly.

5. Stage

Combine granulated sugar, cinnamon and sea salt for the topping. Sprinkle evenly on top of the batter.

6. Stage

Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes.

7. Stage

Cool completely and cut into 16 bars.
