Ingredients for - Salted Caramel Apple Bars

1. All-purpose flour 2 cups
2. Confectioners' sugar ⅔ cup
3. Baking powder ¼ teaspoon
4. Salt ¼ teaspoon
5. Ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon
6. Nutmeg 1 pinch
7. Butter, softened ½ cup
8. Egg 1
9. Mott's® Original or Cinnamon Applesauce 1 cup
10. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
11. Chopped dried apples ½ cup
12. Caramel bits* 1 cup
13. Chopped walnuts 1 cup
14. Granulated sugar ¼ cup
15. Ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon
16. Coarse sea salt, or to taste** ⅛ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Salted Caramel Apple Bars

1 . Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease 9-inch square pan.

2 . Stage

Combine flour, confectioners' sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.

3 . Stage

Cream butter in separate large bowl. Beat in egg, applesauce, and vanilla extract.

4 . Stage

Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Stir to combine. Add diced apples, caramel bits and walnuts; blend in thoroughly. Pour into greased pan and distribute evenly.

5 . Stage

Combine granulated sugar, cinnamon and sea salt for the topping. Sprinkle evenly on top of the batter.

6 . Stage

Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 30-35 minutes.

7 . Stage

Cool completely and cut into 16 bars.
