1. Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
2. Onion, chopped - 1
3. Smoked sausage, sliced - 1 pound
4. Water - 3 cups
5. Cabbage, cored and coarsely chopped - 1 head
6. Carrots, sliced - 3
7. Celery, sliced - 3 stalks
8. Uncooked long grain white rice - ⅓ cup
9. Red beans, with liquid - 1 (15 ounce) can
10. Tomato sauce - 1 (8 ounce) can
11. Crushed tomatoes - 1 (28 ounce) can
12. Chicken bouillon - 2 cubes
13. Salt to taste - 2 cubes
14. Bay leaf - 1
15. Crushed dried thyme - ½ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Cabbage and Smoked Sausage Soup

1. Stage

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat, and cook the onion until lightly browned. Place sausage in the pot, and pour in water. Mix in cabbage, carrots, celery, rice, beans, tomato sauce, and crushed tomatoes. Dissolve bouillon in the mixture. Season with salt, bay leaf, and thyme. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and cook at least 1 hour, until vegetables are tender and rice is cooked.
