1. Vegetable oil - 6 tablespoons
2. Corn tortillas, coarsely chopped - 8 (6 inch)
3. Onion, chopped - 1
4. Chopped fresh cilantro - ½ cup
5. Garlic, minced - 6 cloves
6. Diced tomatoes - 1 (29 ounce) can
7. Chicken broth - 6 cups
8. Ground cumin - 2 tablespoons
9. Chili powder - 1 tablespoon
10. Bay leaves - 3
11. Salt - 1 teaspoon
12. Ground cayenne pepper - ½ teaspoon
13. Boneless chicken breast halves, cooked - 5

How to cook deliciously - Chicken Tortilla Soup

1. Stage

Heat oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Add tortillas, onion, cilantro, and garlic to hot oil and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.

2. Stage

Stir in diced tomatoes and bring to a boil. Add chicken broth, cumin, chili powder, and bay leaves; return to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, add salt and cayenne, and simmer for 30 minutes.

3. Stage

Remove bay leaves and stir in chicken. Continue cooking until chicken is heated through.
