1. Cubed beef stew meat 1 ½ pounds
2. All-purpose flour ¼ cup
3. Vegetable oil 2 tablespoons
4. Italian-style diced tomatoes 2 (14.5 ounce) cans
5. Beef broth 1 (14 ounce) can
6. Carrots, chopped 4
7. Potatoes, peeled and chopped 2
8. Dried thyme ¾ teaspoon
9. Dijon-style prepared mustard 2 tablespoons
10. Salt and pepper to taste 2 tablespoons

1 . Stage

Combine beef and flour in a large resealable plastic bag and toss to coat evenly.

In a 6-quart saucepan, brown beef in hot vegetable oil. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
