1. Vegetable oil 1 tablespoon
2. Ground beef 1 pound
3. Potatoes, peeled and cubed 5 medium
4. Stewed tomatoes 1 (14.5 ounce) can
5. Chopped green chile peppers 1 cup
6. Chopped onion ½ cup
7. Water 2 cups
8. Salt and ground black pepper to taste 2 cups

1 . Stage

Heat oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. Crumble beef into the pot and cook, stirring frequently, until well-browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
