How to cook deliciously - Mushroom and Swiss Burger

1. Stage

Shape the ground beef into six 1/2-inch-thick burger patties. In a large nonstick skillet, cook the burgers over medium heat until a thermometer reads 160°F, five to seven minutes on each side. Remove the burgers to a plate lined with paper towels. Discard the drippings, reserving 2 tablespoons in the pan.

2. Stage

Add the mushrooms to the pan, and cook until tender, stirring occasionally, for four to six minutes.

3. Stage

Meanwhile, combine the cream of mushroom soup and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Cover and microwave on high until heated, two to three minutes.

4. Stage

Return the patties to the skillet. Add the soup mixture, and bring everything to a boil. Reduce the heat, and simmer, uncovered, for three minutes.

5. Stage

Top each patty with a slice of cheese. Remove the pan from heat, and cover, allowing the cheese to melt. Place each patty on a bun, and top with a generous serving of mushroom gravy.
