3. Baking powder - 4 teaspoons
4. Cream of tartar - ¾ teaspoon
5. Cold butter, cubed - 1 cup
6. Heavy cream - ⅔ cup
7. Egg, beaten - 1 large
8. Sliced fresh strawberries - 3 cups
9. White sugar - 3 tablespoons

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Mix together flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and cream of tartar in a large bowl. Cut in butter with a pastry blender or 2 knives. Stir in cream and egg until incorporated. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.

Knead dough for 2 minutes. Press into a 1/2-inch-thick sheet. Cut into squares and place on baking sheets.
