Ingredients for - Grandmas Cowboy Cookies

1. Shortening - ¾ cup
2. Margarine - ¾ cup
3. White sugar - 1 cup
4. Brown sugar - 1 cup
5. Peanut butter - ½ cup
6. Eggs - 2
7. Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
8. All-purpose flour - 2 cups
9. Unsweetened cocoa powder - ⅓ cup
10. Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
11. Baking soda - 1 teaspoon
12. Cream of tartar - 1 teaspoon
13. Rolled oats - 1 cup
14. Flaked coconut - 1 cup
15. Chopped walnuts (Optional) - ½ cup
16. Miniature semisweet chocolate chips - 2 cups

How to cook deliciously - Grandmas Cowboy Cookies

1. Stage

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.

2. Stage

In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, margarine, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the peanut butter and vanilla. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and cream of tartar; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the oats, walnuts (if desired) and chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.

3. Stage

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
