Ingredients for - Tomato Rasam

1. Vegetable oil - 2 teaspoons
2. Black mustard seed - ¼ teaspoon
3. Fresh curry leaves - 5
4. Tomato, diced - 1 large
5. Cumin seed, freshly ground - 1 teaspoon
6. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon
7. Red pepper flakes - ½ teaspoon
8. Ground dried turmeric - 2 pinches
9. Garlic, crushed - 3 cloves
10. Water - 3 cups
11. Tamarind paste - 2 teaspoons
12. Salt to taste - 2 teaspoons
13. Chopped fresh cilantro - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Tomato Rasam

1. Stage

Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds. As they start to sputter, add the curry leaves and tomato then season with cumin, pepper, red pepper flakes, turmeric and garlic. Pour in the water and bring to a boil. Stir in tamarind paste, adjusting to taste if you want, and season with salt. Simmer for about 2 minutes.

2. Stage

Ladle into bowls and garnish with cilantro to serve. Drink it like soup or eat it with rice.
