1. Frozen Fordhook lima beans, thawed - 1 (16 ounce) package
2. Water - 1 cup
3. Whole kernel corn, drained - 1 (16 ounce) can
4. Chopped green chile peppers - 1 (4 ounce) can
5. Salt - 1 teaspoon
6. White sugar - 2 tablespoons
7. Butter (Optional) - 1 tablespoon

How to cook deliciously - Al's Sufferin' Succotash

1. Stage

In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add lima beans, salt and sugar. Cook over medium-low heat for 15 minutes. Add the corn and green chilies, cover, and continue cooking until the beans are tender, about 5 more minutes. Drain and serve immediately. Top with butter if desired.
