Ingredients for - Best Homemade Chow Chow

1. Green tomatoes, chopped - 12 ½ pounds
2. Onions, chopped - 8 large
3. Green bell peppers, chopped - 10
4. Salt - 3 teaspoons
5. Chopped green chile peppers - 6
6. Distilled white vinegar - 1 quart
7. White sugar - 1 ¾ cups
8. Prepared horseradish - ½ cup
9. Ground cinnamon - 1 tablespoon
10. Ground allspice - 1 tablespoon
11. Ground cloves - ¼ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Best Homemade Chow Chow

1. Stage

In a large bowl combine tomatoes, onions, bell peppers and salt. Let stand overnight.

2. Stage

Drain the tomato/pepper mixture and add the hot chile peppers, vinegar, sugar, and horseradish. Wrap the cinnamon, allspice, and cloves in cheesecloth or a porous bag, and add to tomato/pepper mixture.

Boil for 15 minutes, or until tender.

Pack tightly in sterilized jars and seal.
