1. 2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries -
2. 2 tablespoons sugar -
3. 1 teaspoon cornstarch -
4. 1-1/2 teaspoons water -
5. 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice -
6. 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats -
7. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour -
8. 1/4 cup packed brown sugar -
9. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon -
10. 1/4 cup cold butter -
11. Vanilla ice cream -

How to cook deliciously - Blackberry Crisp

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the blackberries in a greased 1-quart baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, water and lemon juice until smooth. Pour the mixture over the berries. In a separate bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in the butter until it's very crumbly and about the size of peas. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the berries.

2. Stage

Bake, uncovered, for 20 to 25 minutes, until the filling bubbles up and out of the crisp topping. Serve warm with ice cream. Editor's Tip: Let the baked crisp cool for about 10 minutes before you enjoy it. This gives it a chance to cool off and for the juices to redistribute and thicken.
