1. Beets 3 medium
2. Butter 1 cup
3. Unsweetened chocolate 4 (1 ounce) squares
4. All-purpose flour 1 ½ cups
5. Whole wheat flour ½ cup
6. Baking soda 1 tablespoon
7. Salt 2 teaspoons
8. White sugar 1 ½ cups
9. Eggs 3
10. Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
11. Bittersweet chocolate chips 1 cup

1 . Stage

Place beets in a pot with water to cover. Bring to a boil and cook for 30 minutes. Remove skin and puree beets in a blender or food processor.
