1. Fresh salmon fillets - 4 (8 ounce)
2. Salt to taste - 4 (8 ounce)
3. Cold water - ⅓ cup
4. Seasoned rice vinegar - ¼ cup
5. Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
6. Hot chile paste (such as sambal oelek) - 1 tablespoon
7. Finely grated fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon
8. Garlic, minced - 4 cloves
9. Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
10. Chopped fresh basil - ¼ cup

1. Stage

Preheat grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.

Season salmon fillets with salt.

Place salmon on the preheated grill; cook salmon for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
