1. Dried brown lentils, rinsed and drained 2 cups
2. Chicken stock 3 cups
3. Bay leaf 1
4. Chopped carrots 1 cup
5. Chopped celery 1 cup
6. Chopped onion 1 cup
7. Cooked, cubed ham 1 cup
8. Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon
9. Garlic powder ½ teaspoon
10. Freshly grated nutmeg ¼ teaspoon
11. Hot pepper sauce 5 drops
12. Caraway seed ¼ teaspoon
13. Celery salt ½ teaspoon
14. Chopped fresh parsley 1 tablespoon
15. Ground black pepper ½ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - German Lentil Soup

1 . Stage

Place lentils in a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Add chicken stock, bay leaf, carrots, celery, onion, and ham. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, nutmeg, hot pepper sauce, caraway seed, celery salt, parsley, and pepper.

2 . Stage

Cover, and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove bay leaf before serving.
