1. Dried brown lentils, rinsed and drained - 2 cups
2. Chicken stock - 3 cups
3. Bay leaf - 1
4. Chopped carrots - 1 cup
5. Chopped celery - 1 cup
6. Chopped onion - 1 cup
7. Cooked, cubed ham - 1 cup
8. Worcestershire sauce - 1 teaspoon
9. Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
10. Freshly grated nutmeg - ¼ teaspoon
11. Hot pepper sauce - 5 drops
12. Caraway seed - ¼ teaspoon
13. Celery salt - ½ teaspoon
14. Chopped fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon
15. Ground black pepper - ½ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - German Lentil Soup

1. Stage

Place lentils in a 5- to 6-quart slow cooker. Add chicken stock, bay leaf, carrots, celery, onion, and ham. Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, nutmeg, hot pepper sauce, caraway seed, celery salt, parsley, and pepper.

2. Stage

Cover, and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours. Remove bay leaf before serving.
