1. Refried black beans - 1 (16 ounce) can
2. Black beans - 1 (16 ounce) can
3. Diced green chiles - 1 (4 ounce) can
4. Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
5. Chili powder - 1 teaspoon
6. Cayenne pepper - 1 teaspoon
7. Salt and ground black pepper to taste - 1 teaspoon
8. Corn tostada shells - 8
9. Shredded Monterey Jack cheese - 2 cups
10. Salsa, or as desired (Optional) - ¼ cup
11. Shredded lettuce, or as desired (Optional) - ¼ cup
12. Sour cream, or as desired (Optional) - ¼ cup
13. Guacamole, or as desired (Optional) - ¼ cup

How to cook deliciously - Black Bean Tostadas

1. Stage

Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.

2. Stage

Combine refried black beans, black beans, green chiles, garlic powder, chili powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until warm and combined, 3 to 4 minutes.

Place tostada shells on an ungreased baking sheet and evenly distribute bean mixture between them. Top with Monterey Jack cheese.
