1. 1 c. water -
2. 2/3 c. packed light brown sugar -
3. 1/3 c. molasses -
4. 1 (1") piece ginger, peeled and grated or minced -
5. 7 whole cloves -
6. 5 allspice berries -
7. 1 (3") cinnamon stick -
8. Ice  -
9. 1 1/2 oz. Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur -
10. 1 1/2 oz. vodka -
11. 2 oz. espresso -
12. Simple syrup, light brown sugar, and candied ginger, for serving -

How to cook deliciously - Gingerbread Espresso Martini

1. Stage

In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring water, brown sugar, molasses, ginger, cloves, allspice, and cinnamon to a boil. Cook until sugar dissolves, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.

Strain syrup into a heatproof container and let cool.

In a cocktail shaker, combine Kahlúa Coffee Liqueur, vodka, espresso, and 2 oz. gingerbread syrup. Fill shaker with ice and vigorously shake until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds.

4. Stage

Dip martini glasses into simple syrup, then into brown sugar. Strain martini into prepared glasses. Garnish with candied ginger.
