1. 1 can (20 ounces) crushed pineapple -
2. 4 cups miniature marshmallows -
3. 1 large egg, lightly beaten -
4. 1/2 cup sugar -
5. 1/4 cup packed brown sugar -
6. 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour -
7. 4-1/2 teaspoons cider vinegar -
8. 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed -
9. 3 cups diced unpeeled apples -
10. 1-1/2 cups lightly salted peanuts, coarsely chopped -

How to cook deliciously - Taffy Apple Salad

1. Stage

Drain the pineapple pieces, reserving the juice for step 2. Combine the pineapple with the mini marshmallows, cover and refrigerate for a few hours or even overnight.

2. Stage

In a saucepan, combine the beaten egg, sugars, flour, vinegar and reserved pineapple juice. Stirring constantly, heat the mixture until it thickens and reaches 160°F. Remove from the heat, allow it to cool, cover and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.

3. Stage

Gently fold the (thawed) whipped topping into the chilled pudding mixture. Add the apple pieces and chopped peanuts to the pineapple and marshmallows. Fold the dressing into the fruit mixture and serve chilled. Editor’s Tip: Stir the pudding patiently over a medium heat so as not to overcook it and to get that smooth consistency. It will thicken even further while resting.
