1. Hot water - 1 cup
2. White sugar - ¼ cup
3. Red wine vinegar - 3 tablespoons
4. Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
5. Ketchup - 1 tablespoon
6. Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
7. Salt - ½ teaspoon
8. Garlic powder - ¼ teaspoon
9. Hot pepper sauce, or to taste - 1 dash
10. Onion, sliced - 1 large
11. Boneless pork loin roast - 2 ½ pounds

1. Stage

Mix water, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and hot sauce together in a bowl.

Arrange onion slices evenly over the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast on onions and pour sauce over top.

3. Stage

Cover and cook until pork is slightly pink in the center, on Low for 6 to 8 hours or High for 3 to 4 hours. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
