1. Vegan margarine (such as Earth Balance®) - 1 tablespoon
2. Canned pinto beans, rinsed and drained - 2 cups
3. Chopped onion - 1 ½ tablespoons
4. Sweet pickle relish - ¼ cup
5. Dill pickle juice - 2 tablespoons
6. Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
7. Molasses - 1 tablespoon
8. Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
9. Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
10. Hot sauce (such as Tabasco®) - ¼ teaspoon
11. Liquid smoke flavoring - 1 dash
12. Garlic powder - ¼ teaspoon
13. Salt-free seasoning blend - ¼ teaspoon
14. Dry mustard - ¼ teaspoon

How to cook deliciously - Vegan BBQ Beans

1. Stage

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

2. Stage

Melt vegan margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion. Cook and stir until translucent, about 5 minutes. Mix together with beans in a casserole dish.

3. Stage

Stir relish, pickle juice, ketchup, molasses, tomato paste, brown sugar, hot sauce, liquid smoke, garlic powder, salt seasoning, and mustard together in a bowl. Add to the bean mixture and mix to coat.

Bake in the preheated oven until sauce is thick and casserole is heated through, about 1 hour.
